How to apply to United Teaching

Applications for September 2021 are opening in NOW OPEN! We’re so excited to start recruiting a brand-new cohort of trainee teachers. We’ve put together this quick guide to help you through the process, so that you’re ready to apply next week:

  1. Check you meet our requirements
This includes at least a C in your Maths and English GCSEs, and a C in GCSE Science too if you want to teach primary. You can read up on our requirements here. We've also got a guide to the government requirements here.
  2. Decide which route you’d like to take
We offer salaried and non-salaried places for most subjects, and there are benefits to both routes. If you’re undecided, this blog breaks down the pros and cons to help you make a decision.
  3. Fill in the Application Form
Here's the Application Form - it takes about 10-15 minutes to fill in.

It’s as simple as that! If you’re shortlisted, you’ll be invited to attend the first stage of our assessment process, which will be an interview via video call. This will include a teaching task to a panel of two members of the United Teaching team, but you’ll get more information in your interview invitation.

If you are successful, you will be shortlisted for the second stage of assessment. This will be an interview with the headteacher or senior leader of your chosen placement school.

We’re really looking forward to receiving your application to United Teaching. If you have any questions, please do get in touch with us, or sign up for one of our upcoming webinars.
