Four 'Outstanding' Reasons to Choose United Teaching

02/05/2023

We are delighted to announce that Ofsted have judged United Teaching to be an Outstanding teacher training provider! Inspectors confirmed that United Teaching “offers the highest quality of education and training”. Here are our top four highlights from the report:

  1. Your wellbeing is our first priority

The report notes that “Well-being is right at the top of leaders’ priorities” – because although teacher training is incredibly rewarding, we know it can be challenging too. Each trainee is provided with a robust support system, so there’s always someone to turn to – from teachers in your department to headteachers, SCITT Leads and mentors.

  1. Our mentors are amazing!

Speaking of mentors, Ofsted observed that “Many trainees said that their mentors ‘are amazing’” – and we agree! We take mentoring seriously, and it shows – our mentoring training programme is described as “rigorous”, resulting in trainees receiving “high-quality developmental feedback” which “has a positive impact on trainees’ practice and confidence”.

  1. You’ll be taught by subject experts, informed by the latest research

The report recognises that our curriculum “places a strong focus on subject expertise and subject pedagogy”. We work with subject experts who know exactly what works in the classroom to ensure you can deliver your lessons in the most effective way possible, and it’s all based on the very latest research.

  1. It’s outstanding preparation for a successful teaching career

According to Ofsted, trainees are “exceptionally well prepared for the rewards and challenges of the teaching profession”. The report also notes that our programme is “extremely well-structured”, covering a “logical sequence of ideas and tasks that link theory with classroom practice very effectively”.
